In Thankfulness

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are excited to do what we do every year, the annual Food Drop! Will you partner with us again and express your thankfulness by blessing others in the tri-state area? He has blessed most of us here at CFC with a home, and plenty to eat and clean water among other things. There are many in the world and even here in the Evansville area who don’t have as many material possessions and who don’t have enough to eat.

According to a study published in 2020 by the US Department of Agriculture, an estimated 1 in 5 Americans are food insecure. That equates to about 50 million Americans including 17 million children. “Food insecurity” is a lack of finances to purchase the adequate amount of food for your household.

We are grateful for the many food pantries and shelters in the tri-state that help supplement the food supply for families and individuals.

How can you help? We are collecting a special Thanksgiving offering (monetary) that will be used to buy semi loads of food that we will deliver at our annual Food Drop. Consider making an offering, above your normal giving, that you give in thankfulness for how the Lord has blessed you. You can put “Thanksgiving Food Drop” on the memo line of your check, or you can choose it on the GIVE PAGE of our website.  100% of these gifts will go towards this project.

Please give by Sunday, November 28. On November 29, we will total how much you’ve given, and we’ll order the food. The semis will deliver it for our Food Drop on December 11. We’ll divide up and deliver it to over 30 food pantries and shelters.

Thank you for your continued faithful giving. We are thankful for you.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;

   go into his courts with praise

   Give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the LORD is good.

   His unfailing love continues forever,

   And his faithfulness continues to each generation.

-Psalm 100:4-5 (NLT)
