4 Ways to Keep Joy in Christmas

Elder Notes

This weekend we will celebrate communion in our services. It's a special time, and we hope you will be able to be with us. We're wrapping up the series in Colossians and headed into the Christmas season. Black Friday is a week away. It can be hard to maintain the focus on the real reason for Christmas in our culture. The pace of life picks up, our schedules get busier, and shopping for just the right gift can be exhausting.

Here are a few things that might help:

  • Spend less. Make a gift or give the gift of your time. Plan an event to spend time with those you love.
  • Make worship a priority. After all it's His birthday we're celebrating.
  • Give a gift that blesses the less fortunate. We'll have child sponsorships and a gift guide next weekend.
  • Keep some margin in your schedule. Block out time on your calendar to spend time in prayer and reading and meditating on His Word.

So join us this weekend. Let's share communion together and help each other keep Christ in Christmas!
