Greetings in Jesus Name!
We hope you can join us this weekend for one of our services. We'll be celebrating around the communion table. Communion is a special time for a Christian. Jesus Himself implemented communion and left it for us to do as a remembrance of Him.
But how can we prepare ourselves for communion?
First, communion is for those who have put their faith and trust in Christ. Make sure you have trusted Christ alone as your Savior. Any of our staff or elders would be glad to help you with this.
Next, read the gospel accounts where Jesus' words are recorded. (Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:17-25; Luke 22:7-22; and John 13:21-30)
Then, read 1Corinthians 11. These verses give us a little more instruction on what we should do to prepare for communion. It's important to approach communion with an examined heart.
Lastly, make sure you participate with thanksgiving. Jesus thanked the Father for the elements in that very first communion.
We'll see you this weekend.
