What's Your Next Step?

Elder Notes

In order to get somewhere, you have to take some steps. That's true spiritually too. Each of us is responsible for our spiritual growth. It's God's desire that we grow, and He has a role in our growth too. Let's talk about some steps you might take.

First, pray that God would lead you as you consider next steps in your growth.

Secondly, take inventory of where you are now and where you need to grow. Most of us will have to clear time in our busy schedules to be able to take a next step. Making time and prioritizing your spiritual growth is important. One of the other difficult parts of a next step can be simple obedience. Often we know what we should be doing. We just don't do it.

As you pray, consider the following possibilities:

  • Serving
  • More regular attendance in weekend services
  • Baptism
  • Getting involved in discipleship or a small group
  • A bible study
  • A short-term mission trip
  • Learning how to share your faith
  • Ramping up your quiet time
  • Memorizing scripture
  • Giving

There's lots more. Just remember that God wants us to grow. It's important. You can do it; CFC can help. Don't hesitate to stop by the Connection Center or the CFC@Home Center and let us know how we can help you!
