Two things we have done before that we are doing again...
Some of you may remember that 21 years ago, when we built the current Worship Center, we intentionally thought of people who we wanted to be introduced to Jesus. We wrote their names on little sheets of paper. Those names are still inside the cross on top of our building. Around that same time, we also asked you to write names on the concrete floor before we laid the carpet in the foyer. We can’t wait to share with you what we know God did with that through a story at this weekend‘s worship service.
With that said, we want to take this opportunity to do something similar once again. Before you come to service this weekend, think about someone you know in our community who isn’t connected to a church or who doesn’t have a relationship with our Lord Jesus. We have removed the carpet from the stage steps, so during our worship songs you will have the opportunity to write the name of that person on the steps before they are re-carpeted next week.
We will show a short video this weekend so you can see what God did last time this happened. We are praying for the Lord to do it again! There is nothing magical about writing down a name, but hopefully it will cause us all to be intentional about sharing our faith and inviting these people to church over the next few months. Remember that people are more eager to say yes to an invite around the holidays, and the holidays are quickly approaching!
Additionally, we couldn’t be more excited for next Friday! One week from today is Fall Blast 2022! As we put together the last few details, we are hoping that your schedule is blocked off or that you will even pencil this event in now! We will be here in the CFC lower parking lot from 5 until 8PM. There will be inflatables, food trucks, games, a hayride, and live music. Then, from 7:10 until 7:30, we will have a fireworks show.
Last year was a huge success even though the weather didn’t cooperate. We expect that the weather is going to be beautiful this year, and we are excited to spend the evening with you! There is something for all ages, and it’s completely free with the exception of anything you’d like to purchase from the food trucks. Bring a lawn chair, bring someone you know (maybe the person whose name you wrote on the steps?), and let’s have a blast--literally! Again, there is something for everyone, so plan on joining us.
We can’t wait to worship with you at one of our four worship services. Have a great weekend.
