Hours: Salaried, Generally 40-45 hours per week

 

Accountability: Student Ministry Team Leader

 

Position Summary
As our student ministry philosophy is a team approach, this job provides leadership and oversight to the middle school ministry. The job would require a combination of relational investment into leaders, students, and parents as well as administrative management and support of events and functions. Below are some (but not all) of the specific job responsibilities one could be expected to participate in.

 

Primary Functions as the Middle School Ministry Director

 

  • Overseeing all aspects of Middle School Ministry
  • Creating a welcoming environment for new and existing students
  • Shepherding, equipping, and training small group leaders
  • Recruiting new small group leaders
  • Helping organize summer camp, mission trip, and retreats
  • Building relationships with middle school students
  • Sharing the gospel and have spiritual conversations with middle school students
  • Planning out teaching series/curriculum
  • Providing biblical teaching at gatherings
  • Planning and executing fun games and activities that students enjoy
  • Handling communication with students, leaders and parents
  • All other duties assigned by Student Ministry Director

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational or administrative skills
  • Experience serving/leading in student ministry
  • Humble, coachable, and teachable. A team player with a heart for ministry
  • Ability to recruit, train, and manage a volunteer team
  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus
