Living Hope for the Dead of Winter

Living Hope for the Dead of Winter
We may not give it much thought, but beneath the cold, dark, barren soil of winter lies the promise of new life. We may feel certain that the springtime for which we hope will erase the ache of winter’s chill, and yet in other ways we may not be so sure. Like the scarcity of daylight that marks this season, our lives can take on a bleakness as well.
It is hope that day by day helps us survive in this world. When life appears to be one long winter, hope fuels perseverance. Without hope, it’s just winter. Those who follow the Messiah, even today, know that God Himself is using these seasons to draw us more deeply into relationship with Himself.
