Giving Hope

CFC wants to be intentional in our desire to bless our neighbors and the nations. There is much brokenness in the world, and we want to be a church that acts as Jesus’ hands and feet. From Afghanistan to Evansville, every believer has a role to play.
Giving Hope
Message Notes
The word for you and me:
Galatians 6:9-10 (ESV)
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
When we do good, we give hope.
The scope of our doing good and giving hope.
The scope of doing good and giving hope: To neighbors nearby.
The scope of doing good and giving hope: To the nations far away.
Genesis 12:1-3
Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country[b] and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Psalm 67:1-2
May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us,
that your way may be known on earth,
your saving power among all nations.
The scope of doing good and giving hope: To the nations nearby.
Acts 17:26-27
And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us.
Hospitality matters to God
Deuteronomy 10:19

80-90% of internationals will never have a meal in an American home.
Because we are scared.
Because we are busy.
Because we are tired.
Galatians 6:9-10
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
