May is Foster Care Awareness Month. We want you to pray about fostering and commit to finding your fit.

Several years ago, CFC’s elders decided to prioritize our local outreach efforts to serve children. With that decision, we developed partnerships with several local entities to make a difference in kids’ lives. And foster care was one area of emphasis. We have trained CFC families to be foster parents, put small groups of Care Communities together to help with the increased responsibilities of foster parents, offered training of trauma and how to respond to children of trauma, recruited Court Appointed Special Advocates, come along side Borrowed Hearts and Isaiah 117 as they serve foster parents with much needed items and a safe loving place to gather while placement is arranged for kids. We’ve helped bring America’s Kids Belong to Indiana as they work tirelessly to improve the foster care situation. And we spearheaded the implementation of Care Portal, whose goal is to meet the needs of families to prevent kids from entering the foster system. God has done a lot! You’ll hear more about each of these in the weeks to come. You will received a prayer guide and other information throughout the month, and we’d ask everyone here to pray about fostering and commit to finding your fit to serve children in our community.
