Getting to Know...Joe Effinger
What is your position/role at CFC? (what’s your title and quick summary of what you do)
I am the Worship Coordinator. I am responsible for planning the music for the Worship Center services and scheduling volunteers to serve on the team each week. I also direct the student ministry band for middle school and high school.
How long have you been at CFC?
I have been attending CFC since 2005. I started an internship the summer of 2013 and have been full time since May of 2016.
Family – married? Kids – names/ages?
My parents are Jeff and Nancy and I have an older sister, Christy; two older brothers, Andrew and Paul; and one younger brother, Tim.
Other than Jesus, what character of the Bible are you most looking forward to meeting?
Favorite scripture passage?
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
If you’re not at church or home, where’s the next likely place to find you? Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Probably at home playing music, or hanging out with my family. I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, Kristina.
What consistently makes you laugh?
Tim, and the other high school students on the worship team.
If you weren’t in ministry (at CFC), what would you likely be doing (vocationally)?
I would enjoy being a music teacher or doing something in the music production industry.
Favorite fruit and/or vegetable?
I like oranges and I LOVE fried okra
What is God teaching/revealing to you these days?
Patience. For so much of my life I desired to be older, or to be graduated or just ready for the next phase of life. God has been teaching me to find peace and joy in my current stage of life.
Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
Born and raised on the north side of Evansville. I graduated from Central High School and University of Evansville.
Favorite part about working at CFC?
I love planning services. I love the notion that helping plan a service brings glory to God and has an eternal impact on those who partake in it.

Sometimes (not always) there is more than one right answer.

Going to the lake with my family and friends.
