Thank You Church Family!

by Dale Beaver

Looking back over the past couple of years, I find myself still trying to make sense of how we’ve been affected by the pandemic. Whether you are reading this as one who grieves the loss of loved ones due to the virus or as one who suffered from protocols in place that made living during those two years severe, we have all been deeply affected by the events and continue to be impacted by them in the early stages of recovery.

I want to personally thank you for your patience with us as we prayerfully strived to lead this particular church body with grace and wisdom. I am sure that there were times that you thought we were doing too much and other times when you thought we weren’t doing enough. I am thankful for the lessons we’ve already learned during those two years and wait with anticipation for the lessons to still be learned. God’s purpose will not be hindered in the discomfort -- of that I am sure. We will again rejoice with those we surrendered to their heavenly places, and we will rejoice together now as we continue to gather here for worship. Thanks be to God!

In the meantime, remember that we will always have circumstances to live with that are unexpected from our point of view. Occasionally these circumstances will touch us all. Even so, as we have learned from Ephesians, may we continue to “make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.” (4:1-3).  I pledge myself to this, and I pray you will as well.
